Political Action Committees
BUILD East (Builders United In Legislative Development) is the AGC's Political Action Committee. Through Build East, the AGC plays an active role in Washington State elections, investing time, energy and money into ensuring the election of pro-business candidates that support the construction industry and the economic growth of the state.

PACs with AGC
The Inland Northwest AGC and AGC of America each sponsor a nonpartisan political action committee (PAC) that gives eligible member company employees the chance to add their voices and influence to the political process.
There are two PACs at work - the BuildEast PAC specifically for NWAGC members to share their voices and the National AGC of America PAC in which members from all over the country come together to cut through the noise and address legislation with a united voice.
AGC PACs pool together voluntary, personal donations and uses those funds to support federal candidates who, regardless of party affiliation, understand the construction industry and the specific needs, interests, and concerns of member companies and their employees.
The only way to ensure progress continues for the industry is to grow the number of construction-friendly legislators in Congress, and we’re working hard to make that happen. Once elected, AGC can then call upon these advocates to help advance legislation that:
- Improves the pipeline for the construction workforce
- Promotes programs that expand infrastructure investment
- Influences legislation on environmental and climate change issues
- Blocks and improves regulatory measures targeting construction
- Ensures tax policies benefit companies equally
PACs help construction industry professionals have a seat at the table in government and help us shape policy. After all, as the old adage goes: If you don't have a seat at the table, you're on the menu.
Members are encouraged to participate in the BuildEast PAC and the AGC of America PAC, which contributes to candidates at the federal level.
Additionally, while not a PAC, the Construction Advocacy Fund is a program that relies on donations to engage in research, lobbying, litigation and influencing to protect and advance the industry on behalf of AGC of America’s more than 27,000 general contractors, specialty-contracting firms, service providers, and suppliers.
